Yoga Therapy Mission for Old Age Homes Across India
In 2021, we began our journey with a simple yoga session at an old age home in Sarnath, Varanasi. Since then, we have continued to visit the residents every year to provide yoga therapy and emotional support.
In 2026, we decided to expand this initiative beyond our home state and extend our services to old age homes in different parts of India, with the long-term vision of reaching people from Ladakh to
Kanyakumari.
Through our initiative, we aim to promote physical well-being, mental peace, emotional balance, and asense of companionship among senior citizens and other vulnerable individuals.
Starting from Ladakh and Jammu
Jammu and Kashmir
Our journey began with prayers and blessings at the sacred shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. In Jammu, we conducted a seven-day yoga therapy session at Home for Aged & Infirm and also celebrated International Yoga Day with the residents.
During our interactions, the residents shared their emotional concerns and experiences of mental stress. We conducted yoga, meditation, pranayama, reiki sessions, and gentle chair-based practices to support their overall well-being.
Ladakh
We subsequently visited the Mahabodhi old age home in Ladakh, where we conducted a programme from 24 June to 3 July. We were privileged to meet and receive the blessings of Guruji Monk Bhikkhu Sanghasena Ji.
During our stay, we extended our services to residents of two old age homes and worked with senior citizens, children with special needs, and monks through yoga-based practices and Reiki sessions.
We also conducted awareness sessions on good touch and bad touch for girls with autism, with the aim of promoting personal safety and awareness in an appropriate and supportive environment.
Himachal Pradesh
Our next destination was Suket Old Age Home in Sundernagar, Himachal Pradesh. We stayed on the premises, shared meals with the residents, and spent time listening to their concerns and personal experiences. From 7 July to 11 July, we conducted yoga therapy sessions focused on relaxation, gentle physical
movement, breathing practices, and emotional well-being. Living alongside the residents helped us build meaningful connections and better understand their needs.

From Himachal to Chandigarh
Chandigarh
In Chandigarh, we visited Kartar Aasra Old Age Home. With the blessings of the Guruji of the local Gurdwara, we conducted yoga and Reiki therapy sessions from 12 July to 18 July.
The programme focused on promoting relaxation, encouraging regular breathing and meditation practices, and providing compassionate interaction and support to the residents.
Mohali
In Mohali, we visited Dhaliwal Old Age Home, where we interacted with residents to understand their concerns and daily challenges.
We conducted a one-day session during which we introduced selected chants, breathing practices, and simple relaxation techniques for regular practice. The session was designed to encourage calmness, positive engagement, and self-care among the residents.
Amritsar, Punjab
At Bhai Kanhaiya Vridh Ghar in Amritsar, we interacted with a diverse group of residents, including senior citizens, women, children, persons with disabilities, and individuals requiring additional support. From 21 July to 25 July, we provided individualized yoga-based practices, Reiki sessions, and supportive
activities according to the needs and abilities of the participants. Our objective was to encourage inclusion, dignity, comfort, and personal attention for every individual.
Kurukshetra, Haryana
At Prerna Old Age Home in Kurukshetra, Haryana, we stayed from 27 July to 31 July and conducted yoga therapy sessions for the residents. Alongside our regular activities, we participated in community engagement initiatives, including the planting of Rudraksha trees during the auspicious month of Sawan. We also celebrated the birth anniversary of Munshi Premchand Ji with the residents, creating opportunities for cultural interaction,
shared experiences, and community bonding.
Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, We had the privilege of conducting a special Yoga Therapy Session at Sarnath Old Age Home, spreading the message of health, wellness, and compassionate care for our elders. The session was designed to encourage physical movement, relaxation, mental peace, and emotional well-being through gentle yoga practices, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises suited to the needs of elderly participants. For us, yoga is much more than a physical practice. It is a way to bring comfort, confidence, positivity, and a sense of connection into people’s lives. Spending time with the residents reminded us that care, attention, and a little compassion can make a meaningful difference.
